HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT BUTTERFISH?
BUTTERFISH
Butterfish , any of thin,deep-bodied , more or less oval and silvery fishes of the family Stromateidae (order Perciformes). Butterfishes are found in warm and temperate seas and are characterized by a small mouth, forked tail and a single dorsal fin. Like the related rudderfishes (Centrolophidae) and man-of-war fishes (Nomeidae), they also have peculiar toothed outpocketings in the esophagus. (The Centrolophidae and Nomeidae have sometimes included in Stromateidae.)
Certain butterfishes, such as the dollarfish(Poronotus triacanthus), are noted for taking shelter when young among the tentacles of jellyfishes. The dollarfish and several other species of butterfishes are commonly used as food. Among these are the harvest fish (Peprilus alepidotus), an Atlantic species that usually grows to about 20 cm (8 inches) long; the Pacific pompano (Peprilus simillimus), a silvery Californian fish; and Pampus argenteus, a black-spotted, Oriental fish.

THE FIRST CALCULATOR - ABACUS
ABACUS
Mesopotamians usher in the age of computing with the calculator.
The early calculating instrument we know as the abacus - consisting of a wooden frame supporting wires or rods on which wooden beads slide from side to side - was developed in Mesopotamia from a flat, sand covered, stone counting board on which pebbles were moved. This aid to calculation was in use long before the adoption of Hindu-Arabic numeral system and can be adapted to any numeral base. The abacus has a huge advantage over counting on the fingers of the hand, simply because it can be used to record very large numbers accurately.
The easiest type of abacus to understand is the modern Western version that uses a base of ten. Here each wire carries ten beads and represents a decadal unit, that is one, ten, 100, 1,000 and so on. A number, say 734,234 can be represented by positioning the respective number of beads, on each wire, against one side of the abacus. It is then a relatively easy task to add or subtract another number from the first one. After a calculation, the whole abacus can also be reset for futher computing by a simple shake.
Abaci was widely used throughout the ancient world and are still important as a teaching aid in pre-school. The movement of the beads helps children to understand the groupings of ten that are the foundation of our present number system.
Other abaci were produced with an interior dividing bar. The Chinese suan-pad, introduced about 1200 C.E., had five beads on one side of the bar and two above. The Japanese soroban originally had five-to-one bead distribution. The Russian schety followed the European pattern with ten beads and no bar.

BOSE--EINSTEIN CONDENSATE
Bose-Einstein condensate
A Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) is a state of matter of a dilute gas of bosons cooled to temperatures very close to absolute zero (that is, very near 0 K or −273.15 °C). Under such conditions, a large fraction of Bosons occupy the lowest quantum state, at which point macroscopic quantum phenomena become apparent.
This state was first predicted, generally, in 1924–25 by Satyendra Nath Bose and Albert Einstein

The World’s Biggest Cruise Ship Is Finally Here And It Looks Like Heaven On The Sea
Mind a date on the world’s largest cruise ship? Yes! You heard that right. The world’s largest cruise ship, “Harmony of the Seas”, has opened its doors to the public. Its not just the biggest cruise ship in the world, but the most expensive one ever built.
The ship was built for the US based Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited by the STX France yard in Saint-Nazaire on the Atlantic coast. Its 362 meter length makes it 50 meters longer than the height of the Eiffel tower! It will embark on its maiden voyage on 22nd May to Barcelona.
Enough said! Lets watch how it looks inside out!
